This Week in English

I hope everyone had a restful break. We are back in full swing this week! 7th graders are wrapping up their poetry unit by typing five of their poems into a final manuscript. This is due on January 20th. Next week we will begin our non-fiction unit. 8th graders have just completed an in-class essay discussing the plot, major themes, and character development in Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451. We will be following up with several projects that celebrate the novel, which will include a diagram of Montag's city and the designing of our own mechanical hound. Next week we will begin reading William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Please make sure you are prepared for class each day! Many are forgetting their pencils and notebooks, resulting in unnecessary lunch detentions.
