Home Stretch
Hello Students and Parents! We are in the home stretch of the fourth quarter. Seventh graders are reading The Westing Game, by Ellen Raskin for the next three weeks, while eighth graders read To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee. We will be taking quizzes and vocabulary tests over these novels, so if you miss a day you will need to catch up on your reading at home. Almost done guys, hang in there! Mrs. Rubasch

AIMS Testing
It is the moment we have all been waiting for: AIMS week! Here are some tips that will help you do your best: 1) Eat a good breakfast! Your brain works better when you are well nourished with protein and carbohydrates. 2) Get a good night's sleep! You need your rest to be alert during the day. 3) Drink plenty of water. It is the desert and dehydration can give you headaches and make you tired. 4) Get some exercise after school. Exercise helps you sleep better at night, improves circulation and increases your energy level. 5) Relax. Don't stress over this. You are all very bright and capable of doing well! 6) Go with your gut. Don't second-guess yourself too much. If you have the instinct that an answer is correct, go with it! 7) Do not leave any answers blank. If you don't know an answer, make your best guess. If you leave it blank, it will be wrong, but if you guess, you could get it right. So always try and do your best. Good Luck! Mrs. Rubasch
